Nisha SEWDASS (Afrique du Sud / South Africa)

Prof Nisha Sewdass is a South African National Research Foundation (NRF) C2-rated researcher in Competitive Intelligence, Strategy and Business intelligence. She is currently a Professor in the Department of Business Management.

She has been involved for 19 years in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, supervision (Master’s/Doctoral studies) and research. Her research focus is in Strategic and Competitive Intelligence, Economic Intelligence, Insight and Foresight and Business Intelligence. She serves as a reviewer for several Journals and Conferences and has published several articles on her research and presented workshops for academics, corporate and government departments.

She served as the Strategic and Competitive Intelligence Professionals (SCIP) Global Advisory Council Lead for Africa and founder and Chair of the SCIP South African Chapter. Previously, she served as Chair of the African Summits (2014, 2016) and on the SCIP University Professional Development Programme : Course Curriculum Review Committee.

Prof Sewdass also served as a Member of the Board of Directors for SCIP International (2015-2017). She is a SCIP Ambassador and mentor for Strategic and Competitive Intelligence. She is also a member of Open University of Dakhla, Morocco and a member of the Forum of African Associations of Economic Intelligence in Morocco.

In addition, She was inducted into the International Intelligence Council, Council of Competitive Intelligence Fellows on 25 October 2018 and awarded with the CI Fellow Award.
She was recently cited in the Journal of Intelligence Studies in Business as among the most prolific authors in competitive intelligence articles on ABI/Inform for the period 1995-2014.
